Diamond Heart

Hell had never been so lonely.

They should all have suspected Kobal, really, Andrealphus realized when looking back on it. He must have been jealous of Kronos, and when jealous of Lucifer's favourite, he'd be jealous of them all. And he always had had a particularly twisted sense of humour.

It only followed that he'd even go so far as to drive - trick, lure, what have you - Princes to Heaven.

Andrealphus turned over the image of the diamond heart which he'd made for Beleth and Blandine so very very long ago. He'd put so much of himself into it that it still hurt to look upon.

And now, with the two halves refused-

He choked, doubled over. He couldn't think about it; it was pounding in his mind. He couldn't not think about it. He threw the holograph away, gasped, found himself hating them, hating them both so very much.

The feeling was close enough to love to give him pause.
