Now that Winry had moved to the city and was spending so much time hanging out at the military base, the brothers had been forced to think on certain points and come to certain conclusions.
"You know," Ed said one day, scratching his chin thoughtfully, "I'm in love with someone, Al."
Al sat straighter, his voice echoing excitedly. "You too?!"
"Yeah. Wait, you're in love with-"
"Yes! We should go tell that person right away!"
So the two of them headed over to the military base! As they walked, they passed an open door where they saw Winry sprawled backwards over a desk.
"Oh, hey, guys."
"Winry! We were just coming to the base to tell-"
"Ahhhh~!" Winry cried, face flushed.
The brothers stared.
"Liza," Winry hissed. "The boys're watching."
Hawkeye raised her head from somewhere behind the desk. "Edward. Alphonse."
They stared. They waved.
"Shut the door, would you?"
They did.
"That was odd," Ed said.
"Yeah. Well - let's get back to telling them, okay?"
They walked on. When they got to the main office, they split up.
Ed ran until he saw his love, and threw himself at his feet. "HAVOC!" he cried. "I LOVE YOU! BE WITH ME!"
Al blushed a little, watching him, then turned his own attentions towards the object of his affections. "A... Ano..."
Breda looked over from his girly magazine. "Huh?"
"I ... I know you're a cat person, and just... I was wondering if... um... LOVE ME!"
And the curtain closed on our heros, having found True Happiness.
